All charms in this section are 14K ( Carat ) Gold Vermeil. This means that the charms are sterling silver gilded with 14K gold, giving a compromise between the cost of 14K gold and and the of poor quality of cheap base metals plated in gold.

For an item to qualify as Vermeil it must be silver plated with at least 10K gold. The process of making a Vermeil charm dates back to France in the 1700's when items were fire gilded with gold. The process has been greatly advanced since then but the essence remains the same.
